ANZ Stadium Safety Policy

ANZ Stadium accepts it has a moral and legal responsibility to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors and visitors. ANZ Stadium's Safety Policy provides people with the authority to take the actions needed to ensure health and safety at work. Managers, employees, contractors and service providers will be held accountable for fulfilling their responsibilities as outlined in this Policy. 
 
The Stadium is committed to the maintenance of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System in accordance with the Australian/International Standard:
 
AS/NZS ISO 4801:2001

Under its Safety Policy, ANZ Stadium is committed to:

  • Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and current industry standards.
  • Providing and maintaining safe plant and systems of work.
  • Maintaining written procedures and instructions to ensure workplace safety.
  • Providing health and safety information, instruction, training and supervision to employees, contractors, service providers and the public as is necessary to ensure their safety.
  • Consulting with employees, contractors and service providers on workplace safety issues and performance.
  • Providing support and resources to managers and employees to help them fulfill their legal occupational health and safety duties.
  • Ensuring effective injury management and rehabilitation is provided to all employees.

ANZ Stadium’s managers are responsible for:

  • Implementing this Policy in their area of responsibility.
  • Maintaining the workplace in a condition that is safe and without risks to health.
  • Helping to develop and promote workplace safety procedures.
  • Educating employees in understanding and following workplace safety procedures.
  • Immediately correcting any unsafe behaviour displayed by employees, contractors, service providers or visitors.

The Stadium’s employees are responsible for:

  • Taking care of the health and safety of people who might be affected by their acts or omissions.
  • Identifying and reporting any hazards, and taking preventive action, if appropriate.
  • Complying with all workplace safety procedures, rules and safe systems of work.

The Stadium’s contractors and service providers are responsible for:

  • Providing their employees and subcontractors with safe plant and systems of work.
  • Providing their employees and subcontractors with written procedures and instructions to ensure
    workplace safety.
  • Providing their employees and subcontractors with safety information, instruction, training and supervision.
  • Ensuring their employees and subcontractors comply with legislative requirements, current industry standards and the Stadium’s policies and regulations.
  • Ensuring their employees and subcontractors use the necessary safety equipment required to do the work.

This Policy applies to all Stadium activities, including circumstances in which employees work off site.

The Managing Director and senior management fully endorse this Policy and the formal Safety Management System that has been implemented.
