ANZ Stadium is the home of Rugby League.
The tone was set when a record breaking crowd of 104,583 fans turned out for ANZ Stadium’s first taste of Rugby League – a Round 1 double header.
Since, some of the games greatest moments have taken place at ANZ Stadium. Benji Marshall’s flick pass in 2005, Andrew Johns State of Origin heroics and Scott Sattler’s last gasp tackle.
The NRL Grand Final, State of Origin blockbusters, the Charity Shield and three of Sydney’s most famous Rugby League clubs – South Sydney Rabbitohs, Bulldogs and Parramatta Eels – all call ANZ Stadium home.
Expectations are high for the Rabbitohs, Bulldogs and Eels in 2010 while another chapter in the games greatest rivalry will be written when the NSW Blues and Queensland go toe-to-toe on Wednesday 26 May in State of Origin I and Wednesday 7 July for State of Origin III.
Rugby League is the cornerstone of so many Sydneysiders lives. They live and breathe the game and so does ANZ Stadium – the home of our greatest game.
