ANZ Stadium School Excursion Tours

School Excursions

From kindy to uni, ANZ Stadium Explore tours are an educational day out

ANZ Stadium offers a fantastic opportunity for school students to tour the Stadium that hosted the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games!

This is both an educational and enjoyable opportunity for students to learn about the inner workings of a world renowned Stadium and to also visit parts of the Stadium that the students may have only seen on television when their favourite team is playing here.

The ANZ Stadium School Tour is 60 minutes in duration and the itinerary is:

  • Level 6 Grandstand – This is our highest grandstand and offers a fantastic view of the Stadium. From here, the students will learn a range of information about the Stadium including how we move 15 000 seats and 3000 tonnes of concrete in or out, depending on the event that is being played at the Stadium. The students will also watch a short video in our theatrette showing highlights of events here at the Stadium such as the Olympics, Rugby World Cup and the Socceroos fantastic qualification for the last World Cup.
  • Media Centre – Visit the television and radio broadcast suites so that the students can gain an understanding of what is involved in a broadcast of a sporting event and so that they can imagine themselves as the commentator of a State of Origin match or a penalty shoot-out.
  • Players Change Rooms & Warm Up Areas – This is an area that the students would have seen many times on television when they are watching their favourite players or team preparing for the big game. The students can through a ball in the warm up rooms and picture themselves as the athlete preparing for the big game. They can also sit in the lockers used by the players in the main change room.
  • Players Tunnel – The students can run down the players tunnel to the simulated roar of 80 000 fans as they make their way out to the edge of the arena.
  • Sydney’s Olympic Medal Presentation Podium – The students (and teachers) have the opportunity to stand on the actual medal podium used inside the Stadium during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. This is a wonderful photo opportunity.

There is also the opportunity to enter the Stadium in our ‘Explore’ Buggy, by coming through the tunnel that the athlete’s used to enter the Stadium during the Olympic Games. As the group moves through the tunnel there is a laser and light show about the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. This is an awesome way to enter the Stadium. The ‘Explore’ Buggy then drives the students underneath the Stadium where they pass such areas as kitchens, VIP and Players Entries. The itinerary is then the same as outlined above.

The Stadium is also a great place for students to learn about architecture, sports management, environmental initiatives, hospitality and engineering. We are more than happy to tailor a tour specific to your needs and maybe even have one of our Managers come and talk to your students.

The cost of an ANZ Stadium School Tour is only $7.00 per student and teachers are free of charge on a ratio of 1:10 for primary school and 1:20 for high school.

The cost including the ‘Explore’ Buggy component is $12.00 per student.
