WITH #AwesomeAugust coming to a thrilling conclusion, the footy action is set to ignite with climatic AFL and NRL #FootyFinals in a September to remember at ANZ Stadium.

More than 260,000 fans have already attended games during #AwesomeAugust – a jam-packed month of sporting bliss featuring the NSW Waratahs’ Super Rugby Final triumph, Italian giants Juventus against Alessandro Del Piero’s A-League All Stars and an epic 12-all Bledisloe Cup Test.

With plenty of action still to come this year, the magical 1m mark has already been surpassed with 1,090,288 entering through the Stadium turnstiles.

Both the NRL and AFL Finals series present compelling storylines for sporting theatre at its very best.

The pride of AFL in Sydney, the Sydney Swans, have been the most dominant team in the code this year as they eye their first minor premiership since 1996. Swans superstar Lance “Buddy” Franklin has kicked 67 goals – nine goals ahead of his closest opponent, Jarryd Roughead – and is firmly set to take out his third Colemen Medal (2008, 20011).

A win for the Swans in their last regular-season game this Saturday at ANZ Stadium will earn them the right to host a Week 1 Final at the Stadium. but they will have their hands full against a Richmond Tigers outfit that have won their last eight games and must win to make the Finals. The NRL action is about to heat up with a Finals series that has never seen a more open race. From teams one to eight, each side has laid strong claims to take out the elusive NRL premiership. The South Sydney Rabbitohs, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Penrith Panthers and Parramatta Eels could potentially feature in mouth-watering contests in Week 1 of the NRL Finals Series at ANZ Stadium.

In a blockbuster Finals preview, the Bulldogs and Rabbitohs go toe-to-toe this Thursday at ANZ Stadium. The Bulldogs are determined to earn a valuable top-four finish while the Rabbitohs are gunning for their first minor premiership since 1989. For more info and tickets, click here.
