Izzy Folau has the rare distinction of having played three different football codes at the elite level at ANZ Stadium.
A gifted rugby league player, Izzy represented Queensland in State of Origin and Australia, becoming the youngest player to play for the Maroons and for the Kangaroos. He played in the 2007 NRL Grand Final with Melbourne Storm at ANZ Stadium.
In 2011. Izzy joined the Greater Western Sydney Giants and made his AFL debut against the Sydney Swans at ANZ Stadium.
In December 2012, he switched codes again and so began an outstanding career in rugby union with the NSW Waratahs and the Australian Wallabies. He has played multiple Test matches at ANZ Stadium and also played in the Waratahs’ 2014 Super Rugby win at the venue.
“The Stadium has been an important part of my life for a long time and I really feel at home here,” Folau said.
“I very much enjoy being part of the Stadium team and helping where I can to promote health and wellbeing and encourage participation in sport.”
