Sam Burgess is widely considered as one of the best forwards in Rugby League and has become an inspirational leader both on and off field.
Sam is a member of the leadership group at the South Sydney Rabbitohs and was honoured with the Clive Churchill Medal for being man-of-the-match in the Rabbitohs’ 2014 premiership win, despite playing much of the game with a badly injured cheekbone.
Sam had also had the honour to captaining his country England in the Rugby League World Cup Final.
He joined the ANZ Stadium Ambassador team in 2018.
“I’ve played many of my biggest games here at ANZ Stadium so I see the role of Ambassador as a really good fit,” Sam said.
“I enjoy talking to people and encouraging participation not only in sport but in life generally, and I enjoy helping out where I can in the community and with charitable projects.
“The Stadium plays an important role in our community as great sporting and entertainment events enrich people’s lives. It is also a focal point for people to come together and share experiences.”
