Arthur Stanley - General Manager, Media
Arthur joined ANZ Stadium as General Manager of Media and Communications in December 2011, having worked in the Sydney media for more than 30 years.
Responsible for all media and communications strategies at the Stadium, Arthur plays an active role in promoting events in the mainstream media and through self-publishing platforms such as the ANZ Stadium website and social media. He works closely with the event and business development team and has helped devise strategies around game-day initiatives and the launch of the Sydney Olympic Park Stadia Masterplan.
Arthur heads up the Stadium’s charity program, which raises money for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Northcott (the leading disability service provider in NSW), among other good causes. The Stadium hosts hundreds of guests each year as part of its charity program.
Arthur also oversees the ANZ Stadium Ambassadors Program, working closely with high-profile ambassadors Greg Inglis and Josh Reynolds (rugby league), Israel Folau (rugby union), Kieren Jack (AFL) and Dave Warner (cricket).
He is the founding editor of STADIUM magazine, produced in conjunction with the Marketing & Membership department, and he has also developed the venue’s numerous social media platforms.
Prior to joining the Stadium team, Arthur held numerous roles in a long career at News Limited. For more than a decade, he was Sports News Editor at The Daily Telegraph, helping to run the busiest sports section in the country. He has a passion for all things sport and believes Sydney Olympic Park is the future of major sport in Sydney.
Arthur has also written and edited numerous books, including Justin Langer’s best-selling The Power of Passion, and has published several magazines. He has won numerous media awards.
