ANZ STADIUM Membership
A calendar of events that will test the resolve of all but the most committed fans. We’re talking the biggest line up of sport that Sydney has seen since the Olympics.
One of the great rivalries of world sport, State of Origin 2013 sees the NSW Blues play two games at their spiritual home. ANZ Stadium will be the scene for the crucial opening game and the series defining third encounter. With two games at home, the Blues lead by inspirational captain Paul Gallen will have the best chance in years to break Queensland’s seven-year domination.
Taking on the All Blacks in the first Test of the Bledisloe series, the Wallabies will launch their campaign for redemption. As the only Bledisloe match in Australia in 2013, a home win will be crucial if the Wallabies are to wrest the Bledisloe Cup back from the All Blacks for the first time since 2002.
The British & Irish Lions return to our shores for a series that has been 12 years in the making, taking on the Wallabies in the third and final Test at ANZ Stadium. An elite selection of the finest players from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, the Lions are one of sport's most celebrated international teams.
One of Australia's most loved sporting occasions, the NRL Grand Final continues to get bigger and better every year. On Sunday 6 October 2013, the competition's finest teams will once again take to rugby league's grandest stage for the ultimate test.
This year, ANZ Stadium will play host to the Socceroos’ aspirational bid to reach the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The second and fourth 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier home games will see Australia take on Oman and Iraq. These two nerve-jangling encounters will surely remind us all of the heart-stopping qualification win over Uruguay on the road to Germany 2006.
The world’s most popular football team, Manchester United, will play an A-League All Stars team in one of the biggest football matches Australia has ever seen. Coach Sir Alex Ferguson and his full squad including Rooney, Persie, Nani, and Giggs will test the big names of the A-League in their only match played in Australia.
ANZ Stadium is the exclusive home of T20 international cricket in Sydney. An expected 80,000 sell-out crowd will experience the much anticipated T20 match between Australia and England, as part of the 2013/14 Ashes Series. Additionally, the stars of Sydney Thunder will light up the Stadium throughout summer in Big Bash League 03.
The Waratahs, strengthened by rising star Hooper and new recruit Folau, will once again play their two biggest matches of the year at ANZ Stadium. They take on traditional rivals the Brumbies and the Reds in their last two, and likely season defining, home games. With Wallaby spots up for grabs these matches will have even more meaning this year.
There will be plenty of NRL blockbusters among 23 games at ANZ Stadium: including the traditional Bulldogs v Eels western Sydney rivalry, a Rabbitohs v Bulldogs Easter Showdown, Sonny Bill Williams’ return to rugby league and the highly-anticipated Grand Final rematch between Melbourne Storm and Canterbury. Week in, week out – ANZ Stadium will be the scene for the best NRL action.
Current AFL Premiers the Sydney Swans will play three blockbuster fixtures at ANZ Stadium: a cross-city showdown with Kevin Sheedy’s Greater Western Sydney Giants, the traditional rivalry Collingwood followed by a highly-anticipated grand final rematch against Hawthorn.
This year, ANZ Stadium will again host AFL, NRL, Super Rugby and BBL finals. Subject to qualification, the Bulldogs, Rabbitohs and Eels will play all NRL home finals, the Swans all AFL home finals, the Waratahs the Super Rugby Final and Sydney Thunder all home finals in the Big Bash League.
