T20 superstar Tillakaratne Dilshan will make his debut for the Sydney Thunder against the big-name Melbourne Stars in one of the most anticipated BBL clashes of the summer at ANZ Stadium on New Year's Day.
Sri Lankan master blaster Dilshan - famous for his Dilscoop over the wicketkeeper's head at ANZ Stadium last summer - will open for the Thunder who are desperate to break though for a win after two close calls.
Dilshan will team up with 'Mr Cricket' Mike Hussey to take on the Stars who will be led by big-hitting Cameron White, Matthew Wade and Brad Hodge.
Another highlight is the clash of the Hussey brothers - Mike and David. Both Hussey boys are in great early form.
What better way to kick off the New Year than a T20 blockbuster between the Thunder and rivals the Melbourne Stars on 1 January 2014.
The Thunder will have to be on their toes with Sri Lankan paceman Lasith 'The Slinga' Malinga bringing the heat with the ball for the Stars.
Life's a beach for Sydney Thunder fans at ANZ Stadium this Big Bash League season.
ANZ Stadium will create a beach that holds 150 people for all four of the Thunder's home games during this BBL season. What better way to soak up the atmosphere this summer than kicking back on Thunder Beach?
