Gerrard, Carragher and Rush will be joined by cult heroes Robbie Fowler, Dietmar Hamann and John Arne Riise, in a Liverpool squad that will have fans recalling some of the famous club's greatest victories.
The trip to Sydney will also see Hamann reunited with former Reds boss Houllier, who has agreed to return to the dugout once more to manage the team.
Liverpool Legends captain Gerrard, 35, played over 500 games for Liverpool, scoring 120 goals for the club before moving to the LA Galaxy in the MLS at the end of the 2014/15 season.
"The squad looks like a great set of lads and it will be great to get on the pitch with them,” said Gerrard.
“Our fans are the best and to play in front of them again will be emotional.”
Brett Emerton, the third most capped Socceroo in history, who retired in 2014 said, "I'm going to enjoy pulling on the boots once again to play against some of the best players in the world at their time.
"It will be interesting to see the physical condition of these players - some who only retired in recent years and others who have been out of the game for more than a decade but still look in great shape.
"Football fans should not miss what will be a very special night."
