THE acclaimed international spectacular, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, will headline an exciting calendar of events at ANZ Stadium in 2019 that will also feature rugby league and football blockbusters and a series of global music acts.
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Sydney will feature four separate shows from Thursday 17 October to Saturday 19 October, including a Saturday matinee performance.
2019 is poised to be a year to remember for ANZ Stadium Members, Corporate Guests and supporters of world-class sport and entertainment.
By the time one of the biggest shows on earth rolls in to the Stadium in October 2019, there will have been a long line of major events and 10 months of sporting intrigue.
While the 2018 ANZ Stadium Events Calendar winds up with the A-League Sydney Derby between Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC on Saturday 15 December, the 2019 calendar will open with a Summer Festival of Football featuring four Wanderers home games in the first 18 days of January, including an A-League/W-League Double-Header on New Year’s Day. An evening of live football action is the perfect way to end a hot summer’s day.
February will feature global superstar Eminem and his Rapture 2019 stadium show, and ANZ Stadium Members are invited to purchase tickets to this critically acclaimed event.
The 2019 NRL season will be underway in March, with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs playing their first home game at ANZ Stadium in Round 2 with a Western Sydney derby against the Parramatta Eels on Sunday 24 March.
New South Sydney coach Wayne Bennett will bring his South Sydney Rabbitohs to ANZ Stadium on Sunday 31 March for their first home game of season 2019 against the Gold Coast Titans.
The highlights will come thick and fast in April, with the third Sydney A-League Derby – Wanderers v Sydney FC – on Saturday 13 April, followed by the traditional NRL Good Friday blockbuster between the Bulldogs and the Rabbitohs on Friday 19 April, which coincides with the 2019 Sydney Royal Easter Show in Sydney Olympic Park.
May will open with a sporting grudge match that no one in rugby league will want to miss – the South Sydney Rabbitohs against the Brisbane Broncos on Thursday 2 May. It’s veteran Rabbitohs coach Bennett up against his former club now led by ex-Rabbitohs mentor Anthony Siebold.
What a season of footy ahead in rugby league given the dramatic events of recent weeks, with new coaches at the Rabbitohs, the Broncos, the Tigers, the Panthers and the Sea Eagles.
NSW Blues fans may finally get the opportunity to see the mighty Blues raise the State of Origin Shield on home soil in 2019, with ANZ Stadium hosting the potentially deciding Origin III on Wednesday 10 July.
Brad Fittler’s Baby Blues broke an Origin drought last year and the Sydney blockbuster in front of their parochial NSW crowd looms as the critical game of the series in 2019.
In total, ANZ Stadium will host 20 NRL games in season 2019, plus State of Origin, NRL Finals Series games in September and, of course, the big one . . . the 2019 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final on Sunday 6 October.
A bumper concert and show season is in the planning for late 2019 with the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (17-19 October) just one of several massive entertainment acts that have been earmarked to bring the year to a spectacular close. Standby for further details of these exciting events.
